The Petite Verdot used to create this potent, yet graceful vintage is grown in a low-yield area of McGah Family Vineyards that restricts berry size, creating a very intense wine. Aromas of violets, river rock, and pomegranate combine with a mid palate that rivets with pure, tart blackberry fruit and cedar notes. True to its varietal, the tannins are prominent but framed by a silkiness and mouthfeel that can only come from perfectly ripened fruit and natural winemaking. Pair with hearty foods such as hard or blue cheeses or succulent meat dishes. Age for 3-6 years to smooth it out or cellar for 8-10 years for what is sure to be a stunning transformation.
