The 2013 Charlie Clay Pinot Noir (the name is a blend of its creators: Chef Charlie Palmer and our winemaker Clay Mauritson) has a deep robust garnet color. In the glass, there is beautiful harmony between aromatics of wild cola berry, plum, sweet baking spices, and nuances of wild rose. On the palate, the entry is bright, followed by a burst of sweet red cherry, pomegranate and oak. The balance and concentration of this wine speak to the nature of this vintage. While enjoyable now, this wine will drink best over the next 5-7 years and age gracefully for many more after that.
